This heating element (part number WP3387747) is for dryers.

Heating element generates the dryer's heat by running an extremely high electrical current through the coiled wire.  This coiled wire possesses enough resistance that it cannot hold onto it all of the built-up heat and must begin dumping it into the air.  Air circulating through by means of the blower fan absorbs some of the heat energy as it passes, raising its temperature.

Disconnect the power before installing this part.

Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

NOTE: The wire is held to the bracket of the element via ceramic standoff fittings;  it is very critical that there be zero physical contact between the coil and the housing.
